Science Technician Term time, 39 working weeks. 36 hours per week, actual salary £23,841pa Required as soon as possible, a Science Technician to join the team in our busy Science Faculty at Ashmole Academy. Responsibilities will include preparing for practical classes, setting up demonstrations and the maintenance of laboratories, under the direction of the Senior Technician. The Science Department at Ashmole Academy is committed to fostering a curiosity in our students for science in the world around us. Our science curriculum encourages students to think like scientists whilst developing their knowledge and skills as we seek to inspire the next generation of science specialists. At Ashmole Academy, an equal number of students study either separate or combined science at GCSE. More than two thirds of our separate science students achieve at least a Grade 7, and approximately 15% achieve a Grade 9. At A-Level, we have approximately 50 students studying either Biology, Chemistry, Physics and/or Psychology. The Scholars Programme at Ashmole Academy allows our A-Level students to conduct their own scientific research project and to support the teaching of Science in our Primary School.
