We are looking for a skilled & experienced bread baker to join our small and friendly team at Chase Side, Enfield. Our award-winning artisan loaves are made daily from scratch using high-quality ingredients and traditional baking methods: sourdough, French, Italian and British doughs. The successful candidate will be committed to working hard, physically strong and fit, have good numeracy & communication skills and work well in a small team. High quality standards and excellent attention to detail are essential attributes. Fluency in English is essential. Experience of working in a professional bakery or kitchen is strongly preferred. Our bread shift times are either morning (e.g. 4am to 12pm) or afternoon/evening (e.g. 1pm to 9pm). We currently have vacancies for two morning shifts and two afternoon/evening shifts each week. We are looking for either one full-time baker or two part-time bakers to fill these shifts. A part-time role may suit a semi-retired baker or someone wanting to fit work around other commitments. Flexibility to work different/extra shifts may be required from time to time. Responsibilities include: • Work independently and/or as part of a team to produce range of breads • Accurate mixing, scaling and baking • Oven work • Follow good food safety & hygiene practices at all times Skills/attributes required: • High quality standards; good attention to detail • Keen to learn new skills and techniques • Good numeracy skills • Organised & efficient • Good stamina and resilience • Well presented: clean and appropriately dressed • Reliable & punctual • Excellent communication with employer and with colleagues • Ability to work both independently and in a team, as required • Fluent in English The rate of pay will be in line with the London Living Wage as a minimum; pay rates increase to reflect experience and responsibility.
